How To Set Up A YouTube Profile/Channel

YouTube is a powerhouse in the video-sharing world, hosting everything from viral Shorts to in-depth tutorials and brand stories. With billions of users worldwide, it’s the go-to platform for connecting with audiences through engaging visual content.

To use YouTube fully, you need to have a Google account. If you already have one (e.g., a Gmail account), you're set. If not, you’ll need to create a Google account. With a Google account, you automatically get a YouTube profile. This lets you watch, like, and comment on videos.

If you want to publish videos, once you have a YouTube profile, create a YouTube channel for it.

By creating a YouTube channel, your business can expand its reach through powerful visuals—whether in quick, eye-catching Shorts or detailed, story-driven videos. It’s an opportunity to share what makes your brand unique and connect with audiences ready to engage.

To create a YouTube channel:

  1. Sign in to YouTube.com.
  2. Navigate to your channel list.
  3. Click "Create a channel".
  4. Fill out the details to name your new channel.
  5. Click "Create".

How To Create And Publish Posts To Your YouTube Channel(s)

Share impactful YouTube Shorts that grab attention, directly from the Post Editor! Create engaging videos to connect with your audience, drive visibility, and boost your brand’s presence on YouTube.

1. Navigate to the Post Editor by selecting "Create a Post", then select the desired Category.

2. Select which Social Profile(s) you want to publish your post to by clicking on the profiles' icons (you can select one or more YouTube channels, as well as cross-post with other social media platforms).

Note: YouTube’s API only provides your account’s Display Name - not the @username. In the Post Editor preview, you’ll see your Display Name where the @username would usually appear. However, once your post is published to YouTube, it will display with the correct @username.

  1. Select your preferred YouTube audience selection for this post.

If the video is longer than 60 seconds or wider than a 1:1 square, it will be published as a regular YouTube video instead of a Short.

Note: Verify your YouTube channel if you want to publish videos longer than 15 minutes.

  1. Then, add a Title for your video.

Note: Keep in mind that YouTube titles have a 100 character limit.

  1. Select your scheduling and Evergreen settings and finish up your post.

  1. Once saved to the Queue and the video processed, you'll be able to preview your post.
