How To Set Up A Profile For Threads
Threads is not just Instagram’s latest social platform, it’s a new way to connect and engage with communities in real time.
By creating a Threads profile, you can extend your social media presence and join meaningful conversations with your audience. Threads offers a streamlined experience for sharing updates, engaging in discussions, and building stronger connections, all while leveraging Instagram’s user base. Whether you're a business looking to enhance brand awareness or a creator looking to grow your community, Threads provides a fresh space to interact and make an impact.
Setting up your Threads profile is easy whether you're using a computer or a mobile device. Here’s how:
- Access Threads:
- From a computer, go to threads.net.
- From a mobile device, download the Threads app from the App Store or Google Play Store, then open it.
- Create a Threads profile:
- Create a Threads profile with your Instagram account by tapping Continue with Instagram.
- Review the permissions and click/tap Allow and create profile.
- Set Up Your Profile:
- You can import your profile picture, bio, and link from Instagram, or add these manually.
- Optionally, upload a new profile picture, write a bio, and add a link to your profile.
- Choose Privacy Settings: Select whether you want your profile to be public or private.
- Follow Accounts: Follow suggested profiles individually or click/tap Follow all.
- Join Threads: Review the content visibility information, then click/tap Join Threads.

How To Add Your Threads Profile(s) To SmarterQueue
3. Click on "Edit access" to ensure all necessary permissions are granted.
4. Make sure all toggles are enabled to grant full permissions and avoid errors creating and publishing posts, as well as collecting analytics data.
5. After all toggles are enabled, click "X" from the top right to close the pop-up. Then click "Continue as" to be redirected back to SmarterQueue.
Note: Due to API issues, you might see an error message when completing these steps:
If this errors comes up for you, go through the steps to re-authorize your Threads permissions (specifically the steps to remove the SmarterQueue app from Threads) and then try adding your Threads profile to SmarterQueue again.
How To Create And Publish Posts To Your Threads Profile(s)
Start engaging conversations that resonate on Threads, directly from the Post Editor! Share timely updates and spark discussions, to connect with your audience, build deeper relationships, and amplify your brand’s presence.
1. Navigate to the Post Editor by selecting "Create a Post", then select the desired Category.
2. Select which Social Profile(s) you want to publish your post to by clicking on the profiles' icons (you can select one or more Threads Profiles, as well as cross-post with other social media platforms).
3. Now, you can write the text you want to share on your post, add links, emojis, or use saved Snippets.
Note: You can customize the text for each of the Social Profiles you chose. Keep in mind that for Threads you have a 500 character limit.
4. Next, add media to your post. Keep in mind that for Threads posts you can add up to 20 images per post, or a video file (Threads doesn't allow GIFs).
5. Select your scheduling and Evergreen settings and finish up your post.
How To Check Analytics For Your Posts On Threads
You can find analytics data for your Threads posts in multiple places.
Past Posts
By going to "Analytics" - "Past Posts", you have access to the number of Likes, Comments, Shares, Quotes, and Impressions your post got.
You'll also be able to "View Stats per Cycle" for your Evergreen content that's been published multiple times.
Reports
The "Analytics" - "Reports" section will show additional details, as well as visual representations of important information for published posts.
As you generate custom charts, you'll be able to do apply Threads specific metrics as filters:
Weekly/Monthly Stats
The "Stats" sections of "Analytics" will give you the latest insights for all your connected Social Profiles, including Threads.
Analyze Social Profiles
We don't currently offer an option to analyze your Threads Profile via the "Analyze Social Profiles" feature.
