How To Create Your IGTV Or Video Post In SmarterQueue

PLEASE NOTE: Before you get started creating video posts, you'll need to first enable the feature. If you have an: 

1. Click 'Create a Post' to open the Post Editor

2. Next, choose a Category 

Note: Be sure to select a Category you've enabled for your Instagram Profile!

3. Then select the Instagram Profile you'd like to create a post for

4. Write your caption in the text box

5. Then add your video by dragging it onto the screen or clicking the camera icon under 'Media' to select a file to upload. You'll see an hourglass icon instead of your video until you save the post and let the video load. 

💡Tip! Videos that are <60 seconds will be scheduled to your feed, while longer videos (min 1 minute, max 15 min) will be posted to IGTV

Note: You can schedule several different types of posts to Instagram including single-image postsmulti-image carousel posts, and stories

6. Click save to add your Post to your Queue - it will auto-schedule for you based on the Posting Plan 💪 

Posting Your Video Via The Mobile App (iOS)

If you have an iOS device, then you can easily post your video posts to Instagram using the SmarterQueue Mobile App with these simple steps: 

1. Download the latest version (2.0) of the SmarterQueue Mobile App and make sure notifications are enabled

2. When it's time to post, you’ll receive a push notification on your mobile device 

3. Please make sure you’re logged into the correct Instagram profile on the Instagram App

Then open the notification on your iPhone 💪

4. You'll see a preview of your post with your caption and can click to play the video. Tap 'Post To Instagram' to continue: 

5. You'll be redirected to the Instagram App and see your video automatically open. Select 'Feed' to continue:

6. Ensure your video is selected the click 'Next' in the top right corner

7. If your video is less than 60 seconds long, your video will be published to your Feed and you'll be prompted to move forward with editing.

Use the tabs at the bottom of the screen to apply any filters, trim, or select a cover for your video

8. Then tap 'Next' in the upper right-hand corner once again

9.  Your caption is already copied to your clipboard so simply long tap into the caption field of Instagram, select paste and your caption will appear!

10. If you’d like, add a location or any other information and tags to your post

11. Once you're happy with your post, tap ‘Share’ in the upper right-hand corner and it will load to Instagram

12. Congratulations, your finished video post is now live on Instagram! 

Posting To IGTV Via The Mobile App (iOS)

If you have an iOS device, then you can easily post your IGTV posts to Instagram using the SmarterQueue Mobile App with these simple steps: 

1. Download the latest version (2.0) of the SmarterQueue Mobile App and make sure notifications are enabled

2. When it's time to post, you’ll receive a push notification on your mobile device 

3. Please make sure you’re logged into the correct Instagram profile on the Instagram App

Then open the notification on your iPhone 💪

4. You'll see a preview of your post with your caption and can click to play the video. Tap 'Post To Instagram' to continue: 

5. You'll be redirected to the Instagram App and see your video automatically open. Select 'Feed' to continue:

6. If your video is between 1-15 minutes, then you'll have the option to select 'Share as... Long Video' so it appears on your IGTV feed, then click 'Continue' 

7. Next, select a cover for your video either from a frame in the video or from your camera roll, then click 'Next'

8. Your caption is already copied to your clipboard - long tap in the caption filed to paste, then fill in a title for your video:

9. Add your video to a 'Series' and choose whether you'd like a preview of the video included in your feed, then click 'Post'

Note: If you do decide to add a 15-second preview of the video to your Instagram Feed as well, this will not show inside of the SmarterQueue Visual Instagram Planner. This is a known limitation of the Facebook API. 

10. Your IGTV video is now live on your page!  

How To Enable Email Notifications For IGTV Or Video Posts (Android)

While the SmarterQueue Mobile App for Android doesn't currently support video or IGTV posts for Instagram, rest assured we have an easy workaround so Android users can join in the fun! 🎉  
In order to publish video or IGTV posts for Android, you'll need to enable email notifications for Instagram posts.
When these emails are turned on, you’ll get an email at the time your post is scheduled in your Posting Plan. The email will include your video and Post Text for you to copy to Instagram: 
1. Navigate to your account Settings inside of SmarterQueue using the cog menu then select 'Email Preferences'

2. Scroll down and under 'Send me an email notification when: An Instagram Post Is Ready To Be Posted', choose 'Yes' 

3. Now when it is time to publish, you'll receive an email with a link to download your video and caption to copy!

4. Open the email on your Android device, then click the link to download the video to your camera roll

5. Highlight your caption text and copy it to your clipboard

6. You can then open the Instagram app directly and click the "+" icon to add a new video post! 💪

If your video is < 60 seconds then it will automatically post to your regular Instagram feed.

If your video is 1-15 minutes long, then you'll have the option to post to IGTV as shown above from step 6 on!
