Your Categories Template

Your social media presence needs to showcase your knowledge and abilities, as well as be helpful to your audience. Give your followers an idea of what a collaboration with you would look like and keep them invested.

Here are our recommendations on what Categories you should be creating and using to curate your posts and set your social media presence up for success ✨

Must-Have Categories:

1. Services:

This Category is for content you've tailored to show what services you offer, how customers would benefit from them, and why they are a "must-have" in your field. Tell your audience about any promotions, special offers, charitable or helpful work you're doing in your field.

And if you can't decide on the best approach, simply A/B test your copy and images to see what gets more engagement and attracts new clients, by using our Variations feature, and Evergreen recycling to put posts with great results back in front of your growing audience.

2. Tips & Tricks:

You can use this Category for any great recommendations on topics related to your field that aren't “big” enough to take away from your paid services. Add value to your social media presence and support your audience more while giving your followers a glimpse into the quality of services you are able to provide once you’re hired.

3. News / Updates:

This Category will help you import content from external sources. This way, you can share relevant information that shows you're in the loop, while not taking away from what you yourself have to offer, and add even more value to retain followers.

Easily re-share posts from any Facebook & Twitter, pins from Pinterest, or content from YouTube Channels or playlists, increasing both your exposure and that of the people you follow. And if you have a website or blog, you can easily import all of your past entries, as well as auto-import future content.

4. Inspiration:

Share a quote, a picture, or a story to help people, create interest, or start a conversation, and thus engage with your audience. You can also post content about you personally, as you attempt to be more open with your audience and create a connection that keeps followers invested in you and your work.

5. Self Promotion:

Focus on building a brand, by presenting your work as an experience - show how you're different, what makes your services special, what your values are, and how your audience is different. Share testimonials from customers that are happy with your services, along with obvious success stories, with clear results.

6. Instagram Stories:

Publishing Instagram Stories that have a common thread and tell a story is a great way to build anticipation for upcoming offers, services, or events you might be going to. It's also a quick, fun way to share more with your audience, both personal, as well as to highlight the key concepts of your field and what you're bringing to it.

Other Useful Categories:

This would be a great Category for when you want to encourage your audience to take specific actions, like visit your website, write a review for your services, join in on the conversation for a specific topic, give feedback or tell you more about services they would need.

2. Seasonal Categories

Curate holiday-specific content that is tailored for what your audience expects during certain times of the year, special events in your field of expertise, giveaways, contests, or advertising campaigns where you might use time-sensitive material.

The same dates are used every year, so you can fill a Category with Evergreen posts relevant to a specific season, and know that they'll be published during the same season each year.

Your Posting Plan Template

In setting up your first Posting Plan, you need to make sure that your content mix is balanced, to keep your audience engaged and increase your traffic.

You also need to make sure that your content is strategic and consistent across your Social Profiles, so you can grow your audience and make influencing effortless, while also adjusting how you're posting daily to each Social Profile based on the guidelines for each platform.

Here is our recommendation on how you can get started setting up your initial Posting Plan to publish your carefully curated content and achieve your social media goals ✨

This Posting Plan template is a great starting point that ensures you share posts for each of the recommended Categories. You can adjust based on the Social Profiles you've decided to create a presence on.

If you're just starting out and don't yet have any or enough content ready for all of them, you can remove some of the Timeslots or replace some with more posts curated from external sources.

Adjusting As You Grow

As you publish your content, you'll be able to check what is working well and what needs to be adjusted.

Here's what you can do to adapt your Posting Plan to your needs and get the highest engagement out of your content:

1. You will want to publish your posts during the times that your target audience is online. If your audience is located all over the world and not just in your location, you’ll have to adjust your Posting Plan.

Get to know your audience and where they're located and see if you need to duplicate or adjust the template from multiple time zones

2. Use Analyze a Social Profile to see when you're getting the most engagement and try adapting your Posting Plan to send content out when it's getting the most attention. Check out more recommendations on When Are The Best Times For Me To Post?

💡 Keep in mind that you can use Analyze a Social Profile to check the social profiles of your competitors or other successful coaches/consultants in your field, to see what's working for them, and apply to your social media presence as well.
